A birthday celebration that was truly magical

Dale and I went to our daughter's house in Charleston SC this weekend to celebrate his 80th birthday. The whole weekend was so special. We ate at a calabash seafood restaurant on the way which was delicious. That night we all sat around talking until late, then the next day we all met at the hotel Kristin and David were staying at for horderves. We went to Circa 1886 restaurant which is one of the nicest in downtown Charleston. It was the former carriage house for the Wentworth mansion. We had a private room with a large round table (nine of us) and the meal was excellent and very elegant. Tammy had given everyone a prompt to tell a favorite memory of Dale. That was so special and we were all in tears. He said he knew his family loved him, but that was so meaningful. After dinner, we had cake and gifts at Tammy and Jay's. Tammy had another surprise, she had created a slide show of pictures of Dale and the family with the song "I am my father's child" playing by Megan Wood. Of course that had us in tears also! The next day we all went to Top Golf, an entertainment complex where you can hit golf balls from a platform while we all had the most scrumptious appetizers. We all laughed and had such a great time. Then we spent another late night just laughing and talking. Usually a little something doesn't go quite right during a several day visit, but this was as close to perfect as it could have been. Our grandson Josh wasn't able to be there, though. But David, our granddaughter Kristin's husband, filmed the dinner and conversations, so we've enjoyed that on YouTube. Anyway, just wanted to share this with you all. Through no credit of our own, we are so very blessed by God. Love you guys!
