Two ducks decided to interrupt a minor league baseball game played i Springfield Missouri on Saturday May 3 during a baseball game between the Springfield Cardinals who are a farm team of the St. Louis Cardinals versus the Northwest Arkansas Naturals who are a Kansas Royals farm team. Stadium officials were able to get one of the ducks off of the field by opening a gate in the outfield while the other duck flew away under its own power. I have heard stories of either human beings running on the field either to protest a law that they object to or showing off to their friends. The first time that I have heard of duck causing a delay during a minor league baseball game. Link is upi.com/6411746455965 via @upi

Even if it caused a delay, I bet it was still cute to watch! I think I’ve heard of a similar incident too, but with a dog instead. Not sure if it was baseball—might’ve been football or soccer. I just remember one of the players picking the dog up and carrying it off the field. It was pretty funny!

I remember a cat doing it once, and a squirrel, but the duck is a new one. Makes sense.

The ducks didn't know they needed to be in the stadium, not out on the field.

Our cricket matches are often disturbed by seagulls landing on the pitch.

You can have a duck in cricket, and it means going out, without scoring any runs, but in baseball, I haven't heard of that term being used there, and maybe these ducks are making a commentary on the game, as not enough runs are being made.
