It is evident that some driver who use Interstate 5 in Washington that the carpool laws that forbid more than the driver using the carpool lanes by having a dummy play the role of passenger have deep pockets to pay a fine of $186 dollars for driving in the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane by themselves and a $200 dollar extra fine for having a dummy dressed as a passenger.
Washington State Patrol (WSP) Officer Rick Johnson reported that a driver violated the carpool lane violation on Tuesday April 29 when a driver admitted that he or she drove on the carpool lane with a dummy dressed with a wig in the front seat of the auto.
In my view I would not want to pay a huge fine driving on the HOV lane in Washington state since it would take a huge bite of my salary.

I'm glad they got them. Some people will do anything.

I am in agreement with you since it is better to obey the law and suffer delays than having a lighter wallet.

These savage intrusive laws are now prevalent all over the world, and the fines are astronomical revenue raisers too.
People with cars should be more free to drive them without impostes, that favour certain types of drivers.
They should just build wider, and better roads, and not try to take short cuts to drain revenue from the hapless drivers, who try to use them.
