I Was Angry Before Dinner

That is a line from a family story my grandmother used to tell. It was about a little orphan boy made to work hard out in the fields. He never talked. But one evening, he came in to eat and said those words. "I was angry before dinner." All the people there were amused because he never spoke until that night. Nowadays, it has become the term "Hangry". Tonight I was just getting hungry, and my grandson went down to get a status report. Dinner was ready. It was more potatoes made into a hash with beef. There is nothing better than tender cooked potatoes with a dash of pepper in real butter. Oh, my goodness.. I wasn't angry, but I was hungry. A little Spike and pepper. Nothing better. And real butter, not margarine.
