Don't waste good paper!

My brother became totally blind around 50 years of age but it didn’t stop him restoring old tractors and farm machinery. I found the tractor museum at Carnamah very interesting as I could relate to some of the practices there. This museum liked to have their tractors in working order and all those that are capable of being started are cranked up from time to time. The photo shows a scrap piece of cardboard with indications of when the tractor was last started. You can see that the model in the photo had been started in February and October 2024 and in February 2025. These notices were tucked somewhere on most of the tractors in the two sheds. I wouldn't be wasting paper on such notices either. When Vin and I were 'making things', we always wrote measurements on scraps of material that were in the shed. In this instance, cardboard would last a lot longer than paper too.

I do the same. I use scraps of paper to take notes such as grocery lists and so on. It's a shame to waste good paper for something that you need to read once and then you throw.

I use whatever I can find - backs of envelopes, junk mail that is only printed on one side - it can all be used for lists.

@JudyEv I also use the back of the envelopes, everything is good and I prefer paper and pen to smartphones, at least I know that I see the note in the morning.

@LadyDuck I haven't worked out how to use my phone for lists. And, if you're away from civilisation, sometimes you don't have a signal so the phone is useless.

I like to use scrap paper that would otherwise be tossed.

I am terrible where notes are concerned as l tend to lose them but have now gone over to using a little note pad & jot things down in it.

Certainly you can easily lost bits of paper. The small note pads are a good idea, for sure.

I am a person who doesn't want to waste good paper. When old exercise books of our students are sold out to the collector man " bhanga tuta man" ( literally broken things collector), I tear off the unused pages and keep them in a file . Many times they are useful for our children to practice their mathematics.

I've done that too. Just thrown out the pages that can't be used.

It is a waste of paper. They could do boards near the tractors

Just now
I guess they could but they're just scraps of cardboard that would be thrown out anyway.
