Peacock escapes from a zoo and is located nearby in Chattanooga Tennessee

Officials with the Chattanooga Zoo in Tennessee reported the news on Wednesday April 30 of a peacock who managed to leave the premises past the perimeter fence and leave the zoo grounds. Eric Spear who is a resident of Chattanooga did report to the zoo officials that he saw the peacock roaming in his backyard on Thursday May 1. The zoo officials were able to catch the peacock and return the animal back to the zoo safe and sound. Link is upi.com/6081746547801 via @upi

They are such beautiful birds. We have a lot of peacocks wandering around Leeds Castle in Kent. I lked the peacocks in the hotel grounds in India. They are so pretty when they spread their feathers.

Peacocks can fly but not for long distances. It's good they were able to catch the peacock.

It seems that the zoo officials need to ramp up the security in their grounds, as it seems that they did not figure on a peacock being able to fly past the perimeter fence. They should secure the premises to ensure this does not happen again.
