Kitty brought me three baby birds last night. It was not good.

I understand the "circle of life," to quote the great Mufasa. But I feel like Kitty is being a bit opportunistic when she captures baby birds whose feathers have barely started to develop. She brought me three offerings last night, with beating hearts and terror in their tiny eyes. It was not fun.
I accepted her offerings, and tossed them over my balcony railing into the foliage below. Soft landing. Will their mother find them? I do not know.
Kitty is doing what cats do. But she is well fed. Yesterday, I shared my tuna with her. I hope she can chill when it comes to capturing baby birds. I like baby birds.

Maybe she wants you to put them back in their nests. Throwing them into the bushes isn't going to help them. Momma bird's not gonna pick 'em up and tuck them back in.

@TheHorse Nope. You tainted them by touching them.

I once had a cat that wanted to bring me lizards daily.

That's not good. Yes, "circle of life" but why do we have to see their fare? I think some cats aren't meant to be inside cats.

With some cats, the hunting instinct is very strong, regardless of how well fed they are. Poor little birds.
