Howdy from a different Chuy’s! I had to run over to Lexington, so I’m eating at a different outlet of my favorite restaurant before heading home. Let’s continue the joys of 1975 with today’s song that’ll definitely cause a “Linda? NO!!!!” headache.
#5: Love Is a Rose - Linda Ronstadt
The story goes that Linda Ronstadt and Neil Young did a tour together. Neil sang this song, but he hadn’t yet recorded it. Linda fixed that!
This was the B-side of her version of “Heat Wave,” so it enabled her to have what we used to call “double-sided hits.” This appealed to the country stations, while “Heat Wave” got the rock and pop airplay.
Couldn’t go wrong either way with that 45!

Recorded by Linda Ronstadt

Doesn’t apply to cats. Everything is theirs but we love them anyway.

Don’t you have a countdown until the end of the school year to maintain?

I agree with you, it's lovely in both the lyrics and Linda's always-spot-on vocal delivery.

I want to say it is on his 'Comes A Time' album but I could be wrong.
And I would be wrong, Lotta Love is on that one. His version of Love Is a Rose is on the 'Decade' release.

@Scarred4Lyfe I was not a big Neil Young fan. It is said that he kind of ""phoned in" his stuff with CSN.

Ditto! Rosemary was from Kentucky (her house is a museum up around Cincinnati).

@FourWalls For us, having so little to do, it can be difficult to get behind.
But I'm happier if I'm at least a bit busy.

You're right. I shouldn't have listened to it. She does have a lovely voice though.

Isn't there a whole bunch of Chuy's? We don't have one here, but I think I read somewhere they have over 100 of them now. Maybe you could use Chuy's as an excuse to travel to certain cities/places? Because, of course, as their very biggest fan, you are going to have to visit every single one of them, right?

I'm trying. I made a deliberate detour to go to the original Chuy's in Austin last year. They rewarded me with a free queso!
