Sigh. Well there is a reason why we call it "Sleazeside". I've lived across the bridge from the town on the barrier island all of my life. I grew up going to the beach, arcades, pizza and ice cream places, and then of course going out to the clubs when I was *ahem* 19 and 20. My family owned 2 very popular nightclubs there for many years. Eventually I outgrew the club scene and late nights. This of course was before the town became even more popular and infamous due to MTV's show "Jersey Shore" being filmed there for years. Superstorm Sandy decimated the area and then the following fall there was a huge fire that burned down almost half of the boardwalk. I don't think I've been back there since. I wouldn't recognize it. Anyway this past weekend was a holiday weekend and the official start of the summer tourist season in this area. It was announced that there would be a curfew after some pop-up unauthorized party was announced. Yeah well that didn't work at all and 73 people (52 adults and 21 juveniles) were arrested after multiple fights and 3 stabbings. Stay classy Sleazeside!
