I got half a dozen of these for my Birthday I had never seen a dragon fruit. I quickly cut one and see it is all red inside I took a scoop but did not like it The image from Wikimedia shows it white with black seeds I do not know why what I have is deep red inside.
I do not know if a dragon fruit can be eaten just as any other fruit or needs something to be added to enhance its taste
There are six of those and I do not want to give them away.
Any ideas? Also why the one I cut is all red inside.

It has a unique appearance with bright skin and sweet, juicy flesh that can be white, pink, or red, often described as tasting like a mix between a kiwi and a pear.
Sounds ok to me.
Enjoy

I tried some recently. It wasn't that good. I also tried a lychee nut. I had some dessert with it in once, but never the nut. It was OK..doubt I will eat it in that form again though

@allknowing The outer part was gone. It was just the inner polka dot part. It's ok in a drink, but did not enjoy the fruit.

I opened one and it is deep red but there are varieties I am told and one of them is red. I will have to add something to make it palatable There are six on them.

@allknowing I know that they can be red inside and those red are supposed to be sweeter.

There are different types of dragon fruit. The most common ones either have white flesh, yellow flesh or red flesh and each type has a different flavor. The white fleshed dragon fruit are okay tasting to me but Pretty doesn't like them. (They're the ones we see most often here.) I've found that if you wait until the fruit feels "mushy", they taste sweeter.
The red fleshed variety taste sweeter and can be much more juicy. I haven't gotten to try the yellow fleshed dragon fruits.

@allknowing I just spoon dragon fruit out of the shell and eat it as is. I hope you find a way to eat it that you like.

Some dragon fruits have red flesh like yours, while others have white flesh like the one in the photo. They’re packed with nutrients and antioxidants—that’s why they’re often called a superfruit. But honestly, I’m not a fan either! I usually just slice it open and eat it as is, though you can also add it to smoothies, salads, or desserts.

I've only ever seen them with white inside. I found their taste disappointing. They look so colourful and delicious but I thought them rather bland.

I love dragon fruit, before my aunt from province will go to manila to bring us dragon fruits, because she have a lot of trees of dragon fruit and she is much younger then, but now she told us it was cut out.

I have tried a small cut of dragon fruit in a party. I like it but I don’t buy it here in Germany. Imagine, 1 piece of dragon fruit cost 6€. That’s too much for me to indulge in a fruit. My sister-in-law is planting dragon fruit in my Philippines yard, that I will try when I be in my home next time.

I haven't tasted dragon fruit but they are nutritious so maybe you can just eat them by adding a little bit of honey lol.
