My Moms home made beef stew and dumplings for tea

As I am posting my Mom is in the kitchen getting tea ready ......yes, it is early , but we are having a home made stew and really the slower and longer that you can cook a stew the better.
There is also pearl barley in there which I love.
Later, she will make some dumplings are put those in the stew too ....my favourite.
Do you like a home made stew .....

Once in a while Pretty will ask me to cut up veggies for a stew and she'll throw everything into the slow cooker. We both enjoy it but I usually have to add some salt to mine before it tastes "right" to me.

Stew is one of my favorites and I agree that the longer it cooks the better it tastes. I make mine in the crockpot so it cooks all day long and your mouth waters as you smell it for hours and hours

I love home-made stew but I don't like pearl barley. Long, slow cooking is the best for stews and casseroles.

Moms are real blessings. Aren't they?
My mom is here with me for my post surgery recovery. I am just enjoying the love, care and attention that I am getting. And not to forget the home made delicacies
. Nothing beats mom's cooking.

Home made stew.
Staple of ours in the 60,s and still is.
Dumplings expanding , soaking up the gravy,
Nothing better.
When we have mince and tatties we always have dumplings with it.
I love a home made stew.
Reminds me of my childhood, my youth, early adult hood, late adult hood and last week
