Entertaining Myself to Avoid Scratching!

Earlier in the week, I mentioned that I was trying to keep busy to avoid thinking about this rash, itching and scratching. One of the ways I did that was to join my husband's search on Facebook Marketplace for a new boat. We had talked about getting a couple of boats that needed fixing up and re-selling them. He liked the idea. So I would spend an hour or two searching each afternoon for anything feasible. He liked one of the boats I found and called to schedule a time to go look at it. Turned out it was a very good deal and the boat ended up coming home with is. There is very little he has to do to this boat to resell it. I believe we will get started with the fixing up and use it ourselves this summer and then possibly sell it next spring/summer. Photo above is of the boat. It is a 19' Maxum. It was getting dark so photo is not very good. I think I may have started something my hubby will love doing. Photo Credit: My Own

The coin collection....not anything valuable in it, so far, but hope keeps on making me go through it again and again. LOL

I think this is a great idea if hubby has the time and enjoys doing the fixing up.

He enjoys tinkering! He has kept up his bass boat for years, been working on the Skeeter he bought from his brother last summer with hopes of having it in the water this summer, but there was just too much that it needs and wasn't happening. So finding this boat in such good condition and a good price, made his day. I joked with him the following day and told him that it is only fair that I get a new old car, since you got a new old boat and sent him a pic of a 1978 Camero for sale. He said, RIGHT, you wish. The price was $48,000 on it since a collector's car now!

@JudyEv But then again, would we have kept them and preserved them? I had a '68 and '69 camero. There were several of us in high school that had them. We would race once we got on the mail street after getting off the small street our school was on. It's a wonder we didn't all get tickets, but we never did that I know of. Those kind of happenings spread fast around school.

He may decide he wants to keep them all.

Nope, but I don't mind him keeping one and we take it out a few times before selling them. That could be fun.

It's cool to have a boat. My mom's brother, who lives in the province, also has a boat and they use it for fishing and sometimes they use it to go to visit and have a vacation on another island.

Yes, we enjoy it whether taking the grandkids out just to ride and spend time with them or fishing. They are going to love the new boat!

Talk about striking while the iron is hot! I know nothing of boats, so would have been out of my depth when it comes to buying one

My husband grew up in family that had a boat(s) throughout his growing up, so he is pretty up on the upkeep of them. I think it will be fun and something we can do together somewhat.

He is anxious to put it in the water. We are going to Jackson, MS to register it along with the boat he bought from his brother and get all of that taken care of and then he can hit the water. I don't know if I can even get in it right now with my knee acting up.

Yes, and off the mower somewhat, so he can't mow things over! And out of my hair!! With my knee acting up, he is stepping up and helping do a few things. Trying to swap out feeding animals every other day with him because he does not like the chickens at all.
