One thing I like to do with children is do fun things where they can creative things and have fun while they are using their imagination. It helps people to use their brain to come up with different things and way to be creative. I always had paints, markers and crayons in my house for the children to make things. Even now when my greatgrandchildren come they can create things in my house.

It is really nice to have a place where children can let loose their imagination and create based on what they want.

@jstory07 And they could really surprise with things we never know it should be or could have been. For an example a shape of an elephant which we do not see till much later when we start to think in their perspective.

Being creative is multi layer thing, I think, with many different aspects involved. I find a good walk or cycle very helpful and at home dabbling with pencils and paint brushes are good. Even working on the computer allows for trains of thought. I usually keep an notepad and pen handy for just that

It's great that you encourage the creativity of the children Judy. Children need to be able to express their creativity. As you say it does indeed help people use the brain more.

That's so cool. I don't remember that being the case in my grandparents' houses. Of course, my parents were products of the Depression, so things were much different back then for them and their parents.

Being an only child I would sit to watch a TV show with a picture book in my lap and a box of crayons and a coloring book nearby, I always had to be doing something creative or reading,

That is the best way to sneaky teach. Where it does not feel like they are forced to do something. People do not know how important that is for a child. They can just figure out themselves what they like in life.

We have a 3-year-old granddaughter who psints our walls of crayons, acrylics of anything she could create. If no walls to psint, she begs for several pieces of bond paper and fills the with doodle.
