And another month begins. I hate to see the start of the summer, but happens every year nothing you can do to prevent it. I used to love summer when I was young, such a beautiful time of year up North. Down here it is just the opposite. Vacations, picnics and barbecues are good, but not too much else Summer lover or hater?

I am both a summer lover and a summer hater. I love it for long weekends, and getting away, although we are changing our timing of going away until September in the coming years. Between now and then we will do with just long weekends.

It's for its good points, but I would trade all of them for less heat, humidity and storm.s

@snowy22315 Oh I know all too well about the heat and humidity, that is why summer is my least favorite of all of the 4 seasons. I am just very very thankful that I work from home and don't have to go out in it and that we have a/c in here as well as in both of our vehicles.

@Juliaacv There"s humidity and then there"s humidity. You haven't lived until you have experienced in the South and unless you are right in the ocean, the further South you go the worse it is I would like to move somewhere with drier air

I try not to loathe summer, but I fear I do. Tornado season is bad, but the pure heat and humidity make it intolerable for me.

@snowy22315 You’d have to cross off a lot of states if the heat and tornadoes are what makes you not want to live here. Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Colorado, Alabama, even Florida. They all have the heat, humidity, and tornadoes. Even if I had the money, unless my whole family moved you’d have to force me out of Oklahoma. The people and the scenery make the summers bearable. But if I did have the money, you better believe I’d have the best tornado shelter possible!

@AmbiePam I probably would cross off all those states..except Colorado..Western Colorado doesn't get alot of that kind of weather I don't think. Northern Georgia Southern Tennessee isn't bad either. The mountain sections are alot better than the Piedmont, or even some coastal areas

I loved summer when I was young, I think also the first few years after I got married. I do not know if I cannot stand the heat anymore, but now I hate summer.

Not sure what is worse the humidity or the bugs. They are both fairly dreadful.

@snowy22315 - Both are horrible and humidity attracts bugs.

I have mixed feeling about the summer due to the fact it will be hurricane season and the extreme heat coming. Good for me since it won't be cold but bad for me due to health issues related to the heat.

@snowy22315 Same with me when a breeze comes by to offset the heat.

Summer is my least favorite season. I hate the super hot spells we get and the tornadoes and the humidity. Fall is and always has been my favorite season.

Yes, I agree. Summer is too much to deal with, and getting worse. Nice today though, I have to say

@snowy22315 I really hate those super long, roastingly HOT days, where it can be over 100 for days on end. I dread those.

Summer is my favourite season. We get to go on a few holidays and the weather is a bit better. It's good to see all the tourists. Summer here at home is good also as we have a nice garden and we do the odd BBQ as well. Summer is better than the dull wet cold grey winters we have - temps go down to like minus 10C. We had a good May, I just hope that was not our summer

Yes, when you are in a cold climate like that you live for summer. Around here we live for Fall, at least most people do.

@snowy22315 We wait all winter for April to arrive. It's a long wait from November until April It's usually too cold for Yvonne to go out very much in winter Any less than 10C and she cannot go out and even then the wind chill is always a worry

It no longer thrills me either. I love to swim and no longer have a place to get in water. It’s just too hot here without a swim.

Summers here can be too hot for comfort. I like spring and autumn best. Lots of retirees (grey nomads) head north in our winters to get away from the cold.

People often go to Florida here in the winter. They are called Snow birds. They come back in the spring.
