brown and green is the color

This post is not for the squeamish or those who aren't into Ma Earth. Or maybe you just need to be a bit crazy with a side of Doctor Suess..... Anyway, I just made another batch of yeast dough. When it rises it will be spread on a cookie sheet and about half an hour later will bake. Brown and green yeast dough. Yup. Tons of strawberries on my property. Tons of strawberry plants that aren't producing much fruit but are producing tons of large green leaves. I looked up strawberry leaves. Tons of good nutrition in them. No scurvy for us. This morning I went out and picked a fat handful of strawberry leaves. I ground them up in the blender. Too soft so they didn't grind super well. I then remembered the can of refried black beans in the fridge. Still good. Yup. I dumped the refrieds into the blender and a little water. Pretty soon I had a slurry. I also put some nutritional yeast in for kicks. I kneaded wheat and white flour into the slurry and eventually dough formed. Super bread coming up! Not the cute bread you see in the store but good for what ails us. I guess if its too awful I can feed it to the noisy jays.

It sounds interesting, even if I wouldn't eat it myself. I hope you or the jays enjoy it. I've been seeing robins in the early mornings here which isn't normal. Usually we see crows or starlings in the back yard and that's it. I'd put out a feeder if the neighbor's cat would leave them alone.

@sallypup I'm not sure who the cat belongs to but it's the one Pretty goes out and loves on and then comes in and makes my allergies go crazy until I end up using an epi-pen. Oh, that reminds me... For some reason, the pharmacy keeps sending me more epi-pens without me asking for them. My doctor wants me to keep 4 on-hand at all times but I have 7 boxes of them (2 per box) right now and told Pretty not to accept any more unless I tell her I need more. (I had two expire last month and used 3 so ordered two more boxes. When Pretty picked up my meds the other day, they gave her 2 extra boxes.)

@DaddyEvil You should write a mystery story based on epi pens.

I never thought about using Strawberry Leaves before. I just asked Yvonne and she said it was a good idea what you are doing. I hope you will post the result in fine picture form. Good luck with it

@Ineeddentures Thanks to the both of you. I am more than irritated at having a zero strawberry crop and a ton of leaves.

@sallypup Our strawberries don't fruit here until July in our gardens. Maybe your strawberries will fruit yet

My stepmom would certainly like for some comeuppance in the realm of the blue jays, but the bread sounds better than pay back for the blue jays with the bad attitudes.
