Trump embarrassed himself and the US yet again yesterday

and no I am not referring to the SpaceX-style implosion of his friendship with Elmo. He met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at the White House yesterday. In public remarks Merz mentioned that tomorrow (now today) was the 81st anniversary of D-Day during WWII. Trump, ignorant as ever, said "That was not a pleasant day for you? This was not a great day!" Merz replied that it began the liberation of Germany from Nazi dictatorship. We all know that Trump doesn't attend security or intelligence briefings on a regular basis and he certainly doesn't read the ones that are delivered to him each day. But could NO ONE on his staff just speak with him and impart how important D-Day was for Germany the day before he met with the guy in person and spoke on camera about it? I'm surprised he didn't chastise the chancellor for not having the Germans just occupy the airports like the Continental Army did during the Revolutionary War. What a disgrace. I cannot imagine how anyone could be proud to have that moron running or representing this country.

When we think that we have seen it all from him, we see something even more outlandish. Where does it end? How can anyone take anything that he says or does seriously, and he claimed that Joe Biden was mentally failing? hahaha

@NJChicaa Sadly adults, and as well children, who with any luck, will grow into adults, are watching this all play out, and what must they think when they see the 'head' of your country in video clips at parties with Jeffrey Epstein? That must mean 'its okay' to some at different ages. It is frightening, unless they get a teacher like yourself, who will set them on the straight and narrow.

@Juliaacv I don't discuss politics with my students. The only slightly "controversial" things which aren't controversial at all that I talk about are vaccines and evolution. Maybe even terminating pregnancy when we are discussing genetics and genetic testing. I don't give a personal position on anything though. I just present the facts and both sides of the argument. They can believe what they want.

What a goon, he doesn't even know, what he doesn't know. Get this, I was just reading this morning he refuses to read his intelligence briefings. I guess they should be in a McDonalds wrapper. OMG. Can this be real? They are considering making a Fox News style broadcast so he pays attention to them.

My thought is that he need to go off the government or he will do more harm then good for America as a whole. America need a president who can not just united but also to push for policies that can benefit Americans at large.

Gee, I think fourth graders know about D-Day. So we need to stop saying iDJiT has a fifth-grade education.

I think Trump is not only messing up America, but also other countries indirectly. I am surprised that Trump even lists allies as enemies, especially in the economic field. Maybe he is crazy, or are they the ones who elected him?

Yet he won the election very easily. I never understood that but this is what happens when his original opponent was a senile old man and his replacement was clearly never going to win the hearts and minds of the electorate. To be honest I expected more from the American gene pool than two ancient men fighting to be President So now nothing surprises me any more

I doubt he has any credibility with any of the world leaders.

How anyone at all can stand behind this behavior is beyond reason. I knew it was going to be a wild ride but this is deadly serious. What true American does not know about D-Day??
