Earlier in the countdown of songs celebrating the moon I promised Sandra that there’d be a song that would encourage howling. Hey, what do you know, we’ve reached it! 
Here’s today’s moon song, which comes with a “Linda? NO!!!!” warning.

I shouldn’t have to tell anyone with an aversion to country music that Hank Williams is off limits. 
This is it, kids: what modern “country music” fans say they hate, and what country music fans point to as “real” country music.
Hank was such a great songwriter, with those marvelous songs like “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” and “Your Cheatin’ Heart.” Then he could write silly things like this look at what love does to a man (“you’ve got me chasin’ rabbits, scratchin’ fleas, and howlin’ at the moon”).

According to dad he was the greatest of em all. The thing is dad was raised in Tyler TX and back in his younger days country western was just about all he'd hear on the radio outside of those radio shows like The Shadow. I was 5 when I met his dad my grandpa and I still remember how he'd be hunched close to his radio listening to that show even back in 1954

@FourWalls Just looking at his picture gave me a mild headache. Did you hear about Sly Stone? So sad. So many of my 60s and 70s artists are passing away.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. A lot of people can't take Hank's voice, compared to the singers today. I'm the opposite.
