Pennsylvania man aims for a record of donating blood in all 50 states

Gettysburg resident Vernon Smith donates blood to communites in need.

Vinton Smith who is a resident of Gettysburg Pennsylvania started a mission to donate blood 34 years ago as a service to his community since his late parents have donated blood when he was in high school. Vernon has this quest to donate a pint of blood to communities in need in all 50 states which started 14 years ago while he was working on a job that required a lot of travel. Hawaii will be the last state that will have his services on Saturday June 14 whch Vernon is doing as an act of kindness. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/,,,

Good that he is able to do that. I used to donate blood before. Now I still have to get clearance from the doctor if I can

That's good he is able to do it. I have only been able to do it once. Then, a couple of years later, I wanted to do it again, but they would not let me because I had lost weight. They said I was too thin and they couldn't get a vein because it looked like my veins had collapsed. That's possible since I had been in the hospital as a youth and had to have my blood taken many times. I guess my veins couldn't take it anymore.

His blood must be worth bottling, to be wanted in all 50 states. Some people really try to give back to society by acts such as this one.

admirable. i have an iron deficiency so i think i can't donate and i am scared so, glad things like these exist

I also cannot donate blood since I have to deal with diabetic problems myself.
