I Grazed much of the Day Today

Today I had to go into work at the office.
This week has been designated Employee Appreciation Week. Each day there are activities that we can partake in remotely or in person, as I was today.
Today began with a catered lunch. They extended our lunch by an extra 30 minutes, giving us a full hour. And based on the fancy lunch that they supplied, we really did need a full hour.
We had pitas with either nice thinly sliced beef, chicken or a vegetarian option. There were every topping imaginable to put on your pita. There was a wide selection of drinks, water, juices as well as cans of soft drinks. There were a selection of cookies, including a red velvet cookie-yummy!
After lunch it was time to stretch your legs and go back to the floor that we work on. On that floor, they had the Marble Slab Creamery set up shop with dishes of ice cream and again, almost every topping you could imagine as well as sauces.
On last break, I caved and went to the area where I could smell delicious popcorn being made. They were handing out bags of freshly-popped popcorn. That was nice.
And in the very end, the managers all dropped off a snack bag at our desks. They contained a bag of chips/doritos/cheesies a packaged cookie, 3 Lindor truffles and a package of Mentos assorted fruit flavoured candies.
My manager was sweet enough to insist that I accept 2 other treat bags, one for each of the twins. That was unexpected and appreciated. She is just so sweet about everything that she does.
Come suppertime, I had to cook for my husband, but I opted for a little salad and some yogurt. How was your day today?

@LadyDuck She is an amazing, strong and intelligent worker.
We had system issues today, big problems, and they had no fix for them.
I messaged her that I would take the day off without pay because of this, I do not want to make an error, and she understood. She told me that they have no fix and it would be an entire day with these issues.

Sounds great. Is Employee Appreciation Week commonly practiced by employers in Canada?

@snowy22315 Oh well, I could do without all of those calories.
A friend of mine treated me to coffee at Tim Hortons on our morning break, I returned the favour on our afternoon break. He is leaving our department and we won't meet up at the office any longer, which is ironic because he is young enough to be my son, but he is dark. Someone that we didn't know told us that she sees both of us together whenever we work in the office, almost like asking if we were a couple, and we just looked at each other and burst out laughing. Can't people of different age groups just be friends without raising eyebrows?

My day was good today after my relatives and myself went to the local bank to make sure that no one had tampered with my checking account. Thank goodness the problem dealing with my checking account was resolved quickly.

@Juliaacv My relatives think that someone used an ATM machine to withdraw money and since my account information is private, they could not use their card to steal from my account.

It sounds like you had a good interesting and varied day.
Employee Appreciation Week sounds like a good thing but not a thing I have ever heard of here in Scotland
They say you describe things I would say I would have grazed all day too.
I did graze all day on account of being stuck inside the house due to the heavy rain

I don't usually eat all day either but boredom won the day.
And that isn't like me - i should have been working on my napkin clothing range

That sounds like a grazing kind of day but certainly all sorts of goodies making having to go into the office worthwhile
It was especially nice that you got to bring home goodie bags for the twins..
