Well, that's one way of finding out it wasn't dishwasher safe!

Dishwasher qccident

It's been a while since we had a dishwasher accident. This one was definitely my fault. I put in a thin plastic container into the dishwasher, the kind that you pack takeaway leftover food at a restaurant. While the container withstood the wash, the lid came back a crumpled plastic mess. Well, that's the end of this container. Thankfully, nothing else in the dishwasher got damaged. Have you had any interesting dishwasher incidents?

The dishwasher hasn't been used in years. The cousins hand wash the few dishes that I use.

I would find it hard to handwash everything.

@pitstop I would not need to ask the question after pulling the mangled dish out. It would already be answered loud and clear. lol

I haven’t had many. Once my dishwasher malfunctioned, and it started leaking all over the kitchen floor, but that was several years ago.

Several years ago I put an acrylic pitcher into the dishwasher and it melted around the rim... The pitcher is still useable, it just isn't the same shape it was when I put it in there. I still use it to carry water to houseplants. I also wash it by hand instead of letting the dishwasher finish it off.

Acrylic doesn't do well in a dishwasher. Glad you can still use it.

@pitstop I bought two of the same pitchers. I'm glad I only put one in the dishwasher.

@pitstop I could take a photo of a broken bowl. Maybe I'll do that. I'm a little light on for material at the moment.

Ever since we used one, I've enjoyed it as it is less messy and less handwashing.
