One of the local news items today reported the death of Marley, a cream dingo which had made his home in the Bunbury boat harbour area. As a tiny puppy, Marley had been picked up in the Pilbara, West Australia’s far north by a truck driver, Kevin Frenci. He had been orphaned and was sitting on the side of the road.
By the time Kevin returned to Harvey in the south-west, the pair were inseparable and Marley became part of the Frenci household, sharing in camping, fishing and boating activities. By the time Kevin finished restoring an old navy vessel at Bunbury, Marley had come to regard the harbour area as his home and was not happy when taken back to the suburbs.
The marine rescue group, headquartered at the harbour, became his foster parents, and Marley became part of the harbour, regularly fed and visited by a number of locals. The Bunbury Marine Rescue boat named one of their boats ‘Marley’. Marley was 15 when he died. What a nice story.
I lost my dingo photos when I dropped my external hard drive so the photo is from Wikimedia, courtesy of Liliana K.

@allknowing I've noticed that dogs in Thailand looked very like our dingoes.

He must have captured a lot of imaginations! They left flowers at his yard when he passed away.

It’s sad that he’s gone, but what a lot of happiness he brought to people.

The truck driver had very little with him so the dingo was brought up on packeted milk coffee for a few weeks.
