Emberoidery Indeed

June 12, 2025 8:28am CST
Even the spell checker is telling me I spelled emberoidery when it should be embroidery Someone should tell the man who owns this shop that his sign above his door is not a.encouragong sign for those who want their name on something. How the heck could this sign have passed quality control. The man's who owns the shop is a neighbour of mine and he does all my shirts for me - but I only have a badge to print which I made myself. If you were him and it was your business, would you have the sign changed , or would you not bother? Personally I would climb up a ladder and paint out the extra E

I'm one of those grammar Nazis who hate seeing spelling mistakes. I'd be painting it out.

@Ineeddentures I found another who notices mistakes - a farmer who place we were minding while they were away. He's added an 'N' to 'disconect' - lower middle.

It can be a marketing strategy. People will be thinking about the shop every time because of the misspelled name.

I rather doubt that people look at the sign. I had to go across the road to see it.

I wonder if it was misspelled on purpose or he didn’t realize he spelled it wrong.

@lovebuglena Why? It's been like that since he opened the shop and he turns over about one million quid every year. He owns this big house on 3 storeys His kitchen is a bigger surface area than my whole apppartment

Simply a bad mistake by the sign maker. Don't think Mr shopkeeper noticed it until it was pointed out to him He hasn't bothered about it

I can't stand seeing misspelled words on signs. What kind of quality control is that? You're right. Who knows if he would misspell something on a shirt, etc.

It is disturbing to see a sign above a shop with a mistake. If his "printing" is as accurate as his spelling better to avoid that shop.
