When the rooster calls at the break of dawn …

I’m up and about right now at 4.30 on an excellent morning because there’s a rooster crowing nearby. These noises of nature bother me not, but if the noise were generated by human lack of consideration (music, cars, talking etc) I would be posting most angrily here.
The train from Rennes to Bayeux took us yesterday through the fertile, flat Normandy countryside on a three hour ride. From a distance we saw Mont-Saint-Michel, impressive tourist trap if ever there was one and best viewed across the flat fields from a good way off. Great place to stock up on plastic Jesuses if you’re running low.
What impressed me most was the train itself. Squeaky clean and quiet, and a big notice made it clear that making phone calls, playing music or noisy games etc would not be tolerated and passengers respected that seemly prohibition.
Anyone who wished to speak on their phone left the carriage and stood in the inhospitable place between carriages. This is my kind of train.

Sounds like you're having a good time. I haven't been on a train for more than 50 years.

That rooster crowing at the break of dawn is history here at Solitaire our home. Gamma our pet rooster crowing was heard throughout the day
You can hear him here
