After the Magum, Trip to Wildlife & Fisheries

After we purchased the Magum boat, my husband had no excuse to NOT get on the road to Jackson, MS and go to MS Wildlife and Fisheries to get this boat and trailer transferred/registered into our names. He had been putting off transferring his Skiff, and the boat he bought from his brother, a Skeeter, last summer. So this made him get into gear and go get all of the paperwork done and to be done with it. Jackson, MS is about two hours away from us. That made this a little day trip one day last week. We didn't have to worry about getting up early and leaving at 8 or 9 am, so we had a laid back morning and got on the road around 11 am. All paperwork got completed and transferred and we left to go find somewhere to eat at. We ended up at Pig and Pint, a BQ joint that played the "Blues" and had live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. We didn't get to enjoy the bands, but the BQ was pretty good! We had a little detour on the way home, as he did not remember visiting Lake Lincoln State Park before and we have been there at least 3 times before. He missed the exit so we got off the interstate at the next exit and drove back up the old highway. It was a nice little ride in the country until his GPS took us in a full circle. We finally found the place, paid our entry fee and drove around to check it out. It has really expanded since we had last been there several years ago. It looks like the boat business has taken off and I'll have more boat stories to post soon! I hope everyone had a great day today, did you? Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

I am enjoying my Friday today despite heavy rains in my neighborhood this morning and the washing machine needing to be repaired,

After the "inspection", we made a quick trip to Walmart to pick up some odds and ends and then back home to sleep the rest of the day. I slept until around 6 pm, did dishes again and played on myLot for a little while and took another nap. I'm glad you had a good day.

I'm getting there and enjoying getting back into the swing of things. What did you "inspect?"

@kareng Our landlady sent her secretary to inspect our house to make sure we weren't damaging anything. All she did was step inside the front door, had Pretty sign that she had been there and left again.

Sounds like you had a nice day trip. Today was very, very quiet. I need to find a kindly old gentleman for companionship.

It was nice not to have to go to the hospital today. I only went one place all day, to the pharmacy to pick up one more medicine, and that's all. I didn't even want to leave the house, but I went and picked it up. It was hazy and somewhat smoky again today and the air quality was really poor, so I had to run the AC to be able to function, but...I did it. It sounds as if you had a very nice day, and I'm glad.

That smoke must be very annoying. I hope it will blow out of there very soon! How is your son doing now that he is home now and has rested/slept some?

@kareng The wildfire smoke comes and goes, depending on the wind current direction. Others are suffering from it in other areas...I remind myself that the smoke might be horrible and annoying, but many people have suffered loss of life, loss of property and/or jobs, pets, and on and on...from those wildfires, so when I think about that, I realize the smoke is a small thing compared to what they have lost. I won't deny it makes me crazy and a bit sick as allergies kick in big time, but it's way better than what those people are having to go through. He has slept some, but not a lot. Better than he was in the hospital, but we have a ways to go...thank you, Karen.

Love the name, 'Pig and Pint'! Quite a lot of time on the road, did you have the boat with you?
