When I Was a Small Child...

I lived at my grandparent's until I was 9 years old. In the heat of summer I recall watching the rain storm that usually came as the day came to a close. I loved the cloud burst that insued. Watching the dusty surfaces outside turn to mud , and the temp come down considerably.
That was the summer I fondly remembered. Not this continued dry spell. We did get a little rain and storm recently, but hardly enough to enjoy some moisture. It's frustrating. Yes, there were a few claps of thunder, but not much came of it. Disappointing.

@jstory07 Did it rain 9 months last year?I need spots to run to if this climate trend continues. I am going to hold out as long as I can so I can get beach front property, but if it goes bad, I am going to be neighbors with Miss Judy.

We used to have those summer rains here too. I loved that it wasn't cold like winter - we could step outside in the rain in tanks and shorts. But it's a different story now - we don't experience such storms. Kids can't believe it'd actually rain during the summer. Seems like everything about this world is so different from our childhood days.

We've been getting rain or storms almost every day here. I'm ready for sunshine for a little while. It seems like it's always cloudy now.

That's just not fair. You have our sunny skies. I'm getting rather worried about fire season because it is so dry.

@celticeagle It was sunny for a while yesterday morning but then clouded up and stormed off and on... I'm tired of all the rain and would share with you if I could. We need the grass to dry out enough to let us get the yard mowed.
Two or three years ago it was so dry here that all the grass dried up and crumbled to dust during the summer. Luckily, we didn't have any fires here.
I hope you don't have fires there, either.

Yeah whole west seems not to be getting much rain these days. We actually have more rain than we got all of last year after May. Had a good little rain storm. Last year, we went almost 10 months without true rain. There was some sprinkles here and there and why LA caught fire among other places, there just was no rich people there.
