Today, Father's Day is bittersweet for me.
I know that I am not alone.
Anyone who has lost a Dad or who is surviving the loss of their children's Dad, knows this feeling.
I spent alot of time today in 2009. That was my own Dad's last Father's Day in his earthly life. He was so very sick. I hardly recognized him when he came into the living room on that day.
He was hospitalized the following day for the very last time. And he went on before us on July 4, 2009. And although that was alot of years ago, it feels like it was a heartbeat ago.

@wolfgirl569 My mother was a strange read.
She preferred her 3 sons over me, her only daughter.
I was fortunate enough that my Gramma recognized this and took me under her wing and taught me so many things that I needed to know.

I agree that Fathers day is bittersweet. My dad passed away in 1981 and that also feels like a heartbeat ago. A day hasn't gone by that i don't miss him
