Today my friend Alejandra called me early in the morning. That was a first in years as she is a night person. But she wanted to share that her American friend Diane (our own age) instead of staying in bed as we do was going to be part of a protest. I remembered the poem written by our Nobel Prize Pablo Neruda. A line said that Bolivar woke up " every hundred years, when the people awoke". It seems that the people of the US are awakening. I hope so. It is that or chaos. Dixie is in a plane back home. Camila will take me to see if I can buy the bed and then we´ll come to the Chinese restaurant to get some dishes. Leticia will make rice so that it is not so expensive. We will have Leticia and Camila´s daughter for lunch too. After lunch Camila will go and hug her mom and dad. I´ll mylot a bit now. I haven´t been much here. See you.

I'm glad Dixie and Humberto are on their way home and hope they enjoyed the trip and arrive home safely. People in the US were already awake but more of us are willing to do something about the idiot now... I hope. I hope you all enjoy your lunch/dinner.

I am convinced that a democracy will not work well if people are too lazy to fight for it. We have to vote even if vote is not compulsive. And in these moments, I admire an 80 year old woman who will join a protest. I wonder if I would do what she is doing. That´s how we threw out Pinochet. We overcame our fear.

@marguicha The only fear here is that trump's minions will hurt or kill people. There are even two of his gullible fools on myLot.

@DaddyEvil Pinochet hurt and killed people. But if we had not protested, more would have been hurt or killed.

@lifecoachjerusalem I think both sides are at fault. Too many civilians are being killed and/or facing terrible times while the leaders are safe and sound somewhere.

Almost at war? Iran sends missiles to hit civilians, and Israel saved the Free World by destroying the Iraninan centerfuges where they were enriching uranium to make Nukes. If Iran had gotten Nukes, they would hold the world hostage to their demands. Which side are you on? Everyone of us has to ask ourselves that question. . .

@lifecoachjerusalem No, we have not Mussolini and thank God not even a communist government, that is what we feared in the 70s.

At least Mussolini, or someone like him is not the head of governent in Italy now. . . One of my online jobs is teaching the series of books: The Story of the World. I have one student in Book 2 and one in Book 4. We studied WW2 yesterday in book 4

Dixie just wrote that she goes from the washing machine to bed while Humberto ran from the airport to his office.

I wish pacific protests could be part of what people do. I still remember Dr Martin Luther King Jr.
