I Salted It

That is the white on the concrete. That will help keep the weeds from growing back in. I have a table there now. I decided that we were not using the patio table setting in the yard, so I brought it up. Now I just need to get my canopy ordered. I have it down to 2. I also pulled weeds and grass from the fence there. I will cover that with some of the shingles. They will be easy to slide under the fence and protect both sides of it. I might get some of that done tomorrow. It has stayed dry today. Was very comfortable with a good breeze. Hope you had a good day.

It rained a couple of times this afternoon but felt good when I stepped outside. We're at 78F now and the high was predicted at 74F. t still looks like it could storm at any minute. The weather radar still shows potential storms heading our way... We shall see. Hope you have a good evening/night.

@wolfgirl569 It sprinkled a couple of times during the night and is still completely overcast... The forecast is for it to stay overcast but no precip today. That worked really well yesterday so I'm sure it will work again today. (We had a 3% chance of rain yesterday during the daytime and it stormed and an 8% chance of rain during the night and it sprinkled. They're calling for a 20% chance of rain during the daytime today... )

The salt works, I did the same in the past and it worked.

We have used pickling salt like that before with great success.

@wolfgirl569 What's your secret for ridding a yard of mice? Our son's neighbour has an infestation of them, and they have a nest under their shed behind the fence to our son's backyard. You can literally see little trails worn out in the grass from them. My husband has put down the poison mousebait traps twice now, but still we see them.

@Juliaacv The best is snap traps and cats. I don't like to use poison as it can also kill animals that eat the mouse. For baiting the traps peanut butter works great.

I might be reorganising my kitchen cupboards. I'm not really happy with them the way they are. I think they could work more efficiently if I changed some things around.

@wolfgirl569 That's the downside. We'll probably both be looking for stuff for a while.

I had no idea that Salt could do this. Weeds growing back in a real pain. I will pull the weeds I need to pull and our salt over the area. I think I know where I can get a huge bag of salt for nothing. Council left bags of it beside my garage at.the end of winter

I prefer salt as it's safe for animals. Check those bags for that. I know you wouldn't want to make a dog or cat sick

I wish the guy could use salt instead of an herbicide; but it would kill the flowers too.
