Rain, Rain Go Away

Happy Monday Everyone! ugh it's another rainy day. The whole weekend was a bust with rain pretty much putting a damper (literally) on any outside plans. My next door neighbor had an outside party planned on Saturday and wound up having to rent a tent for the party goers. I could see inside the tent from my kitchen window and everyone was basically huddled together. He let us know they were getting the tent (just to be courteous) and then added "feel free to come by". It was a nice gesture but no way I was going to go. My day is off to a slow start. I've been lollygagging since I got up and just finished my breakfast and second cup of coffee. I just finished breakfast and my daughter will be taking her lunch break in an hour. I won't be ready for lunch until later on. Even the dog is having a tired day. She hasn't budged from the sofa all morning. She's all cuddled up with her blanket and snoring. Usually when someone is in the kitchen she is under-foot hoping for a snack but today she didn't even move a muscle. I started reading a book I thought I had read years ago. (The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah). It wasn't until I charged my old Kindle to see what books I had that I saw that I never read that book and here I was agreeing that it was an awesome book. So, since my Kindle was all charged up I figured I'd read it. I'm not that far into it yet but it's already grabbed my attention. Looks like a fairly quiet day ahead.
