Beat the rain.

George and I just got back from the store. He didn't want to use self-check out today. So, that was a mess. Not being able to see the order of things, made unloading our cold food a challenge. I somehow managed to get it all in and all put away, but almst lst a package of yogert. It threatened to storm early this morning and we hit a few sprinkles while out, but the worst of it started after we were home and I was unloading groceries. Hence the title of this post. I'm thankful George's back driving and can cart me around again.

I don't like self checkouts. It always goes wrong for me. I bet George loves driving again as well. Glad you can get carted around again Kayla

I always put the cold stuff up last. That way it's all together and I know easily which bags

I didn't get to bag the groceries, myself. so I didn't know what was in which bag. I actually still have groceries in the van.

Doesn't bother me. We have an enclosed one and a half car grage, aand George parked the van in it.

I don't like using self-checkout at all. People need jobs and the prices don't go down when I do their job for them. Ptooey on self-checkouts. And to those who complain about low pay and not enough jobs? I want to slap them because they are, of course, part of the problem. There. I said it. I feel better now. Carry on. lol

Yeah. Well I used to feel the same way. However, from an accessibility standpoint, it's easier on me. The check out lanes are barely wide enough for me, a cart and George, with his walker, to get through. (don't forget I'm in a wheelchair). It's not possible for me to put the groceries on the belt. Then, there's the issue of bagging. I have to know where things are, and if someone else is doing it for me, I don't. George isn't helping me any, and I am the one who has to unload and find everything at home.

@kaylachan I can understand that there might be reasons to choose self-checkout. At the same time, they've only been around for a short while. How did you manage before them, and why did it suddenly become impossible to manage after they were added? Just curious.

Rained here all morning, well at least I think so. I didn't get home until 12 ish, but saw big puddles in the drive, and a good bit of the afternoon.

Glad you both got out and back with no rain, I hate feeling like an ax is over my head as it rumbles thunder, I hate that weather and wish it would just rain and get it all over with,

Ah, not using self checkout, that can be a mess. I like to bag my things my own way. Like obviously you don’t put a strongly-scented candle in the same bag with a steak. But they will do it, they don’t care. Or a hot rotisserie chicken, with heavy whipping cream that should at least stay cool. Or yogurt, like you said. Not a big fan of Fla weather, but I do enjoy the wild storms. Glad you didn’t get hit by the big downpour.

Yeah, they mixed the cold with the dry stuff and it annoyed me. Left me searching for stuff. I don't care if its a small haul or large one, I'd rather get what I want and do it my way.
