Eugene Missouri resident LeAnna Binkley was driving her son Grady to take him to baseball practice on Saturday May 17 when a black rat snake who was inside the engine of her auto to get warm popped out of the hood and scared LeAnna and her son.
LeAnna and Grady attempted to chase the snake out of her auto but the snake decided to go back into her auto's engine compartment.
LeAnna then drove her auto to Cole Elementary School where she is employed as a teacher where asked for help from her colleagues to remove the snake from her auto which was successful.
The snake did not harm anyone and was removed from LeAnna's auto unharmed,
Officials with the Missouri Department of Conservation are asking residents to check the engine compartments of their autos since snakes like to get inside the hoods of autos to stay warm.

Cats and snakes are known for getting into engines of autos to relax from the weather.

So do other animals. I have heard where cats get up under the car to get warm in the wintertime.

That looks far too near for comfort, and I do not know what I would have done, probably stopped my car, and call for roadside assistance.

I would have done the same thing since I would not to mess with a snake either while driving in a car.

I'm glad they were able to extricate the snake.
