Officials with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) answered an emergency call from 60 year old man Jeffrey Hudson and his son 30 years old son Robert Hudson who were aboard their 57 foot fisher boat named "Turn Me Loose." that was sinking in the ocean.
The father and son duo did leave their boat and were aboard their life raft when the incident happened on Thursday morning of last week.
The USCG were able to locate their boat thanks to their Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon so that the USCG send a helicopter from Virginia Beach to rescue the duo and reunite them with their relatives at the Lynnhaven Boat Ramp.
What the cause of the accident is being investigated by the authorities.

That is a good question what caused the boat to take on water.

Seems like people don't know how to sail boats and need lessons otherwise they have to keep being rescued,

I am in agreement with you that the USCG did a heroic job to rescue the two men in the life raft.

Turn me Loose is a great name for a boat if it was tied up in a bar our
Lucky they had a life raft and were able to use it.

I am very hesitant to go out on any privately owned boat such as this, unless it is a commercial vessel.
Most private owners never check their boats properly before going out.

You have a very good point about a passenger in a private sailboat.
