Officials with the Cougar Mountain Zoo which is located in Issaquah Washington mentioned on social media that an East African crowned crane named Alice had escaped from the zoo on Wednesday May 21 and went missing for a few days. The crane was seen walking to the Sammamish State Park when the crane was seen in the presence of great blue herons the next day. Zoo officials were notified by a local resident that found the crane on Friday May 23 at a home near Peregrine Point when the crane was caught and returned to the zoo where a veterinarian and zoo officials are watching her closely in the company of her best friend Hatter. How funny to see a crane wandering around. Now he and Hatter can party.

I feel sorry for the crane. Obviously, it wanted freedom.

I am in agreement with you that a crane just wanted to have fun.

It seems that they had to crane their necks to find him, as a few days is quite a while, and maybe they didn't notice the crane missing right away. Cages will have to be upgraded to prevent a reoccurrence.

You are right that the cages at the zoo will have to be higher.
