I'm just going to say it, when it comes to money, people suddenly have a lot of nerve. Rick called me, and when I didn't pick up my phone, he chose instead to text. Fine. Asking for what else? Money. More speffically, the money he claimed I owed him after rejecting my paypal payment. Then, while George was outside with his radio, some stranger walked up to him asking for money. Claimed he ran out of gas down the road. We have a fuel can we keep stored in the garage safely of course, for the mower, but I decided to keep my mouth shut about it, because that fuel's been there for a little over a year at this point.
Other then that, we might be hitting a store somewhere today. Don't know when, though.

I get your beef with Rick, but like I said before, I'd just give him the $40 and be done with it. Even if it is not your fault, you are inviting your own drama and then complaining about it, when, in my opinion, this is an easy fix. Just my two cents worth.

Yeah, but at the same time, I almost feel like I shouldn't have to pay him, when he refused the paypal payment. And, I ignored his texts.

@porwest Here's the problem. It won't solve it. He'll just keep asking me for more money. And, that's where my frustration comes in. I've already given this guy 80 over two payments, and he wanted another 50. Each time, he keeps asking for more. And more. I have to draw the line somewhere.

@kaylachan Even if he refused the payment method (which is dumb, I agree), unless the money was received for the services rendered, you still owe him the money (even if TECHNICALLY you already paid it).
I agree the whole thing is just silly on his part. But I also feel like the two of you are arguing semantics. It's just my opinion and that's all it is.
End the drama. Pay him. Wash your hands of it. Unless you enjoy the drama, because continuing this will certainly offer that to you, and I can only assume you prefer conflict over what is a very simple resolution here if you choose to keep this going.
Again, just my opinion. Just my two cents. But if there is any frustration you are feeling about this (which I fully understand) I have to be honest here...
You are doing it to yourself and can't blame Rick for it. You can solve it instantly. You are choosing not to.
That's it. That's the end of my Dear Abby advice segment.

This guy Rick is toxic.
Why does he just not leave you alone?
As for the other guy, he might have been genuine, but he might not
I don't know what I would have done to help either because they wouldn't get money from me

I don't carry a lot of cash on me, so he really wouldn't have gotten any. And, if it were my dad, he would've bought fuel. We keep some at home for the mower, but maybe people will learn to fill up before it gets that far, like George does. We only put three gallons in ours today because of how George likes to fuel the van.

I have no cash at home.
I would be gutted if I got robbed and someone stole our money.
Got nothing of any real value as we don't bother with " stuff"
I got rid of my petrol mower.
Got a more I push - .my exercise.
I fill my tanks when they get down to half full

George and I tend to do the same. We don't ask for money, not if we can help it. Rick, no surprise there. Some stranger being brave enough to walk up to my husband.... yeah, no.

I say "no" to the stranger; and Rick should stop always asking for money.

You paid Rick once and he chose to send it back to you. Too bad for him. I can’t help it, he doesn’t seem like a very kind guy. And wow, asking someone for money when they are outside their own home is just not acceptable in my opinion, either.

George managed to chase him off and speak clearly. So, I'll give him that one. I think, in this day and age, you've got to be pretty bold to just approach someone like that. And, I never replied to Rick's texts. I didn't want to.

I hope Rick stops the mowing without asking thing...and then expecting money for it. That's not a good way to be. Hopefully you can get someone else to mow for you.

People are so wierd these days when it comes to money. Specifically askign for it.
We were at a friends house, that we had brought dinner to last summer and we had just finished eating and this random dude that was barely an aquaintance to all three of us stoppedy with no warning and then was talking. Suddenly he was like "it sure would be nice if someone would order me a pizza." I was like....uh no.
