Poor little Claire

My 1 year old cat Claire is at the spay/neuter clinic. She did NOT like the car ride there. She settled down once we got into the place. I think she was scared because of the different smells. I hope she does okay after surgery. The price is not bad at all. It is $105 for the spay, a rabies shot, and a distemper shot. I can't even imagine what it would cost at a regular veterinary office. She has to stay overnight. I don't know why that is their policy but that is what they do. It was the same with Adso. I get to pick her up tomorrow morning at 8.

I guess it’s good they keep her overnight, and since it isn’t too expensive that’s even better.

I don't understand why. They don't have staff there overnight. At least I'd be able to keep an eye on her if she was here.

@NJChicaa No staff? I don’t like that either.

@NJChicaa You can actually request to pick her up right before they close. They can't deny you that...I have done it before. I usually had to sign a stupid paper, but I took them home anyway at times, when I knew the pet was going to be alone and scared.

Poor Claire. She will be uncomfortable for a while. That is a good price. I hope she feels better soon.

That's a good deal even just for the spay, but add in the shots...

It's weird they keep the animals in if there's no-one there to watch over them. Unless they have some sort of camera system.

I'm sure she will be fine. Tomorrow morning will be here before you know it and you will be reunited

I agree, that's a good price. I have made so, so many trips to vet's offices over the years to take rescue animals for different reasons. I didn't like it when the pets were alone all night, however I discovered they could be given a small pain/relaxer for the night and would sleep quietly. Our rescue started opting for that. It's been awhile since I took a pet to be spayed/neutered, but it was only done at the time on request. Maybe you could call and ask? Might be worth your peace of mind.
