Happy Tuesday Everyone! saying it's hot would be an understatement.
I haven't been sleeping well lately and don't know why. I get up, have my coffee and then drag myself to the recliner and fall back asleep. By the time I wake up the morning is more than half way gone. And with it, most of the time I used to spend here on myLot.
I've been popping in and out, checking posts and discussions but in addition to not sleeping very well and being tired, I don't have much to talk about.
Last month was so busy and now this month is quiet. Certainly not complaining.
July will come with more family birthdays and a few big ones. My youngest granddaughter will be celebrating her Sweet Sixteen and her sister will be 21yrs.
I also have my sons birthday and two best friends on the same day (but they are one year apart in age).
I planned ahead and have cards but still need gifts. Thankfully I have some ideas and it will just be a matter of buying them.
Today will just be another day inside with the a/c. As always, there's always something to do around the house and I have to return a phone call from a friend.
How are you dealing with all this heat?

I am mostly indoors. Unfortunately I do have things that I have to do outside too.

I guess it's nearly impossible not to have to go outside in this heat.

We have a couple of guys come over every day or two and work on something to weatherize the house... I normally sleep during the daytime but feel like I need to stay awake while they're here. I did fall asleep for about an hour yesterday but they were trying to tiptoe around my bed climbing up and down in the ceiling, getting it ready to insulation blown in... They got that part finished today and will start on blowing insulation into the outside walls tomorrow. They're doing good work.

@Marilynda1225 It should help with the heat in the summer, too. I do wish we didn't have a huge picture window facing West and letting in all the heat from the setting sun but the blackout curtains are the best we can do about that problem. With insulation, the walls won't be letting all the heat in.

@DaddyEvil I had a big picture window in my other house so I know how hard it is to keep the sun and heat out. Blackout curtains are pretty much all you can do.

blowing all that insulation should really be a big help for the winter. I'm sure it's worth not getting some sleep to have the workers do whatever they have to.

@Marilynda1225 That is bad when the dog doesn't want to go outside!

It hit 100 degrees here today with a much higher "feel" temperature. Even my dog doesn't want to go out

I am hibernating and just keeping my nose to the grindstone at work.
It helps pass the time nicely.
Tonight I am doing our meal (steak and baked potatoes) in the air fryer oven. I will do up a little garlic bread and cheese too, as it comes out so nicely from that oven.
I will steam some carrots and fry some mushrooms on the stove top.
And we have to finish up the strawberries and shortcake for dessert.

@Marilynda1225 It is only because we have an air fryer oven, and I stack things.
I even did a little garlic bread with cheese, that was delicious.
Your supper sounds delicious in my books, I had a hankering for a ham on the weekend, but my hubs wasn't feeling it.

@Juliaacv now if we lived closer we could have swapped
My air fryer is a double french door and takes up a lot of counter space but it hold a lot and we use it practically every day.

Steak & potatoes sounds like a delicious dinner. I love anything I can make in the air fryer. Your dinner plus dessert sounds way better than my air fryer meal. We're having ham, baked potatoes and roasted baby carrots.

I’m try to get everything done in the morning so I don’t have to venture out in the heat of the day. This morning I had scheduled a doctor appointment early and then ran to the pharmacy and my dad’s house. By 10:30am, I was back home and cooling off.
A sweet sixteen? That’s exciting!

I hope you are better rested today. I have the AC set at 73 and the ceiling fan running. I'm quite comfortable. I have nowhere to go until July 3.

My a/c is set at 72 and I have a tower fan going so it's pretty comfortable here too. Glad that your house is cool and you aren't sweating. Hard to believe that the 4th of July is coming so fast.
