Lost in memories, some are funny ............ I hope

A really old screen shot

I think it must have been almost 15 or more years ago when I made a screen shot of the Cat in the Hat about aging. At the time I thought it was funny but I'm finding I can relate to some of it much better now at 75. Still, it's funny, right? I was fooling around on youtube when I came across this really old tune, I liked it back then and I still do, have you heard it before?

I recognize the song. The Cat in the Hat is all too true. I'm 77 now.

So far the worst part is that my hearing is getting bad but luckily I was born with no sense of smell so that isn't an issue. My mood has not changed much, I'm content if not happy most of the time.

@rebelann I'm sorry about your hearing. I've noticed that I need new glasses. Does having no sense of smell affect how and what you eat? I'm glad you are content. And you have fur babies to keep you company. I miss mine.

Thanks but for now it isn't so bad that I need hearing aids yet. I suppose it does as the spice oregano tastes like straw, no flavor what so ever.

Same age as you here, at least I can only relate to few of what listed. I imagine I can consider myself lucky.

I do not need to see one but I have noticed that if I do need one none of them know me so now I am trying to establish a relationship with one so that if something happens I will have a doctor that knows me.

@rebelann - Not needing to see the doctor is the best.

Ha ha - I'm a big Dr Seuss fan - I have not seen this. Oh that aging thing . . . I guess it kinda creeps up on ya - I know I will continue to get older . . . I just don't want to "feel" older. I don't know this tune, but it sure has a groove . . . love the video graphics on it!

@rebelann Believe me, I already cringe looking at the mirror. It hits me when I look at old photographs too. I do look at some of the ladies in our tai chi class . . . I found out about 3 of them are in their 90s . . . oh my gosh they don't seem like it at all.

I hope you'll always think young ..... just remember not to look in the mirror unless you really have to, it's what keeps me from thinking I'm as old as I am, this only works if I don't try to do what I could do 20 years ago

@rebelann Same here,at our age our ability tends to fall short of our wishes. We have to accept it.

I find it frustrating sometimes when my body can not do what it used to do yet my mind wants to trick me into believing that I can.

Nope. It's a rock 50s tune I think. I think we're the same age timeline. I'm 74 by October.

That song is from 1966 but I have no idea if it ever reached other countries as that band is from California and never became a big hit like the Beatles or the Rolling Stones did back then

It was popular in the mid 1960s, probably before your time.

You have to laugh or you'll cry. The line is too close.

I'm one of those people that other people hate, I wake up content if not happy most of the time and would be the first person at work to happily say Good Morning in a cheery way.

@rebelann ........that is great that you can be that way on a daily basis. I have lived with major depression most of my life so, for me, that isn't the case.
