There goes my hibiscus tea

I had hibiscus tea in a plastic cup on my nightstand. I was looking forward to drinking it in the morning. That never happened. Why? My iPhone is to blame. My 8am alarm rang. Sleepily, and without looking at what I was doing, I reached out my hand to turn the annoying alarm off. The phone was behind the cup so I ended up knocking the cup of tea from the nightstand. It fell onto the floor and splattered everywhere. The cup was completely empty and the floor had a giant red puddle. Why aren’t the damn plastic cup lids sturdy enough to not open if the cup falls down? Frustrated, and probably saying a few curse words, I turned the alarm off and went to grab some paper towels to wipe that whole mess down. It wasn’t quick but at least the floor is cleaner than it was.

I'm sorry about your tea. I know the feeling though that's why I put my drink away from the alarm. Hubby is the one that turns the alarm off and he tends to slap at anything and everything until he finds the snooze button then finally the off.

I’m glad the tea didn’t spill onto my iPhone. That would have been terrible.

@lovebuglena Depending on which version you have, they can withstand liquid now. Don't ask how I know lol.

Some years back and knowing my love of coffee, my oldest son bought me a Contigo cup. It has the best top I've seen for preventing spills, plus it has a little feature that can lock the drinking spout. It keeps hot drinks very hot, and cold drinks cold, for hours and hours....I was given a second one last year, so I can rotate and always have a clean one. They are the best.

Hubby got me the iced hibiscus tea probably from a bakery. Of course the plastic cups there aren’t the best.

@lovebuglena The locking feature is great. You can even lock it and put it in your shoulder bag, whatever...it never, ever leaks.

I usually don’t add lemon or lime because the amount of hibiscus flowers I use makes it tart.

I wasn’t crying but I wasn’t happy. Not just that I didn’t get to drink the tea but because I had to clean up the mess. I don’t remember if I cursed in English or Russian.
