Happy Thursday Everyone! yup it's Thursday and I didn't even have to look at the calendar. The lawn crew is here and those loud mowers are right next to my house. NO alarm clock needed on a Thursday morning 
Well I have some good news to share.
My daughter in law had her follow-up yesterday after her surgery two weeks ago. She's going good and got the stiches removed and doesn't need the hard brace around her neck. They replaced the hard brace with a soft collar which she has to continue to wear. Doctor said she's doing really well with her recovery and she sounded very happy when I talked to her. What a relief to have this behind her.
Today is my youngest granddaughters birthday. She's Sweet 16 (seems like only yesterday she was little and singing the Frozen song over and over and over).
I have things I want to do today but I'm in the middle of a really good book and I might just wind up reading all afternoon. Even as I'm chatting here I'm thinking about what's going on in my book.
The weather is still very hot but we're supposed to get thunderstorms later this afternoon and tonight. That should cool things off a little bit.
That's what's going on here. Anything exciting happening in your little corner of the myLot world?

Happy Birthday to your granddaughter! 
I am so relieved and happy for you all that your daughter-in-law is doing so remarkably well following her procedure.
I cannot imagine how cumbersome wearing anything extra would present in this weather, she must be made of really good stuff.
We had some rain this morning, and it is an overcast day.
Still warm, but we are getting another break from the sun today.
I am ahead of the game at work and might finish off early this afternoon.

@Marilynda1225 Now that I am finished work, don't I see that the bright sunshine is out again?
I would like to run a couple of errands, and it will be alright, I have a/c in the SUV and sunglasses, I just do not like going out in the heat on some days. It isn't as hot as it was earlier this week. Thank goodness.

My daughter in law is a remarkable person and dealing with the surgery she just had is amazing. I certainly wouldn't have been able to deal with all she's been through.
We're supposed to get a small break from all this heat but then it will get hot again.
Hope you're able to end your work day early

Yes my daughter in law is recovering well which is certainly an answer to our prayers.
My granddaughter is very happy today. Now that she's 16 she is going for her drivers permit (egads). I still think driving at 16 is too young but all the other grandkids did it and she'll be the last to drive.
Hope the heat isn't too bad there.

Great your daughter in law is doing well. Around here we are trying to work something out with sis for a party after the 4th to welcome son back and also celebrate her son's bday. Something should work out.

I'm glad your DIL is doing well!
Nothing going on here today. It's too hot and muggy... The construction guys got the insulation done in the attic and in the walls in the living room, kitchen and laundry room. They still need to do insulation in my bedroom and in Pretty's bedroom. They told me they'd do that on Monday. Then they'll just need to replace our storm windows all the way around the house and it will be done.
We can already feel a difference in how much the AC is running.

Wow thats a lot of work that they've done already. You certainly will be toasty warm during those cold winter months. I'm sure the insulation will also help keep the house cooler on the summer. Aside from all the insulation getting new windows is a big thumbs up.
