Coffee Time and Friday Update

TGIF everyone! Friday has arrived with light rain and cooler temperatures. It's nice to get a break from all the heat this past week even if it's only going to be one day before the heat returns. At least the a/c gets a rest today.
My daughter finishes work at 2pm on Fridays during the summer. She's going away for the weekend so it will just be me and the pup until sometime Sunday. One of her friends is hosting a girls weekend at her house. Sounds like a fun time and I'm glad my daughter has a social life. I'm kind of jealous that she'll be swimming which is something I've always enjoyed but haven't been able to do for years.
Every winter I talk about vacationing at the Jersey shore but once summer rolls around either we can't afford the prices or can't coordinate time off for all of us to go. Half of the family wants to do a cruise so maybe next year?
Meanwhile, I had my passport ready for my trip to Venice, Italy but my invitation to Jeff Bezos wedding didn't arrive!

I would love to go to the beach. The one time I went to a beach in New Jersey it was very choppy and murky water. My parents took us to Atlantic City. I did enjoy the boardwalk.

It's a strange thing,
But we live near one of the nicest beaches around
And there is about 20 miles of other beaches really close, all lovely sand,
And hardly anyone uses them even on the hot days

The boardwalk along the Jersey shore is one of the highlights especially the different foods you can get as well as the rides and arcade games. As for the water, it's not the best.

Jeff Bezos is the founder of Amazon and is getting married this weekend in Venice. The wedding is costing a mere 50 million I think.

@Marilynda1225 I'm a lake/river person... I've only been to a beach twice in my life. I was a pool guard when I was in my late twenties and had the skimpiest swimwear I could wear without the city griping at me. 
(I was a bodybuilder at that time and liked showing off the way I looked.

Hopefully at Thanksgiving you can all sit down together as a family and come up with some dates and ideas about going away together next year as a family. It takes a long time to put something like that together.
We had started plans for going away this Christmas, but I think that when we talk about it next, which will be in July, we will discuss another location.

Its really hard to coordinate a big family vacation between jobs, school, etc. We'll definitely have to see if everyone is really serious or just random talk at this point

I do miss swimming too and wonder if I would enjoy it as much now or if the memories are better than the actual swimming itself
