Do you use your attic?

Alot of people if they have an attic use it for extra storage space. I don't really need it for storage. In my old house though, I stored a Christmas tree in the attic. I left it there accidentally when I moved though. The attic is kind of hard to access, and I have never been up there. I know my parents stored Christmas things in theirs, but the walk in is big enough to do that here.

My dad stores Christmas items in their attic, but it’s only accessible by a ladder that folds up into the garage. With my sister’s house, the previous owners turned the attic into a 3rd floor. It was Amyra’s room until last month when she began sharing a room with Annelyn.

I wouldn't want an attic room. It is most certainly hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

@snowy22315 I don’t know if they insulated it or not, but in the winter it doesn’t get cold. Now, in the summer, I think it gets hot. But Amyra seems to love that. She has a ceiling fan, so I guess that helps, but I couldn’t do an attic room in the summer either. It used to be their TV room so we would go up there a lot, and I’d sit under the fan. The rest of them were fine.

@AmbiePam U am sure it gave her some privacy and independence, but it seems like it would be a pain climbing down everytime you needed to use the bathroom.

We had a basement but not an attic in our home. My grandparents had a very large attic. My grandfather made the Balsamic vinegar up there. I loved to go up to check, I loved the smell.

@snowy22315 - Because there was the perfect temperature and humidity to make it there. I remember the 7 barrels perfectly aligned, the top opening covered with a linen and a round rock on top of it. My cousin and I loved to go up there nosing during the night.

Not too many of our houses have accessible attics. We could have stored stuff at Argyle but we had plenty of other room.

We don't have attics here. Maybe some big fancy houses might have. But we do have some storage above our wardrobes and closets. Even in the kitchen. I do store things that are not needed in daily use. It's accessible, we just need to climb the ladder and access it.

We've never stored anything in the attic. We have never lived in a home where the attic area was large or easily accessible. My parents never stored anything in their attic either, it was too small and the door to get into it was built for tiny elves.

That's OK as long as you have enough storage space elsewhere.

Our attic is more like a crawl space and hard to access. I don't store anything up there.

I don't know how big mine is, but big enough for the guys who were fixing a leak in the roof to walk around up there.
