Paris is on fire.

The roads are said to be melting in Paris - I too would melt in heat in excess of 40 degrees Celsius. That’s 104 degrees in old money and there’s no need for all that heat shooting about. Same thing happened when I lived in Paris many years ago and it made all the Parisians most snarky. Everywhere you went you got your face chewed off by someone who couldn’t take any more. Showers were set up in the streets for people to walk through. Nobody undressed for such showers, things were steamy enough without that kind of frippery, and no-one seemed to object to their leather shoes and mascara getting a good soaking. Of course one of the side effects of showering fully dressed was that it turned into a bit of a wet teeshirt competition in some locales. The city fathers hadn’t reckoned on that - or had they?

I'm sure the "unintentional" wet tee shirt spectacles didn't hurt morale of the men seeing those... (I hesitated on whether the work "that" or "those" worked better in the sentence. )

Paris with a temperature of 40 C must be horrible. I am sure that French will not be a bit offended by a wet teeshirt competition.

It could turn out to be the new normal - extreme weather due to our over indulgence and denial.

Interesting theory that heat can induce irritability/snarkiness. I haven’t thought of that before. I have noticed a consistent mental performance dip in warm weather, that could be the cause.

I'll be in Eastern Europe next month. Gonna keep an eye on the temps to know how to pack. I hope they have a/c.

Heat wave for that matter may arise. For us 40C is bearable here for we belong to tropical zone.

Wet teeshirts, bring them back I say. Come on Scotland, 40C please and showers in the street. Does fake tan get washed off, Imagine pools of fake tan lying in puddles in the streets. Yay for snarky Brechiners in wet teeshirts
