Claire is handling the thunder well

It has been thundering off and on all day. I was curious to see how my 1 year old cat would react. I have been surprised to see that she really doesn't seem to care. A bolt just hit pretty close to here. She kind of scooted a few steps ahead and under a side table but she didn't go under the couch or under the bed or anything.
Now we have to see how she handles the illegal fireworks which are no doubt going to start up tonight or tomorrow.

For the record I would ban fireworks completely.

I remember the first time Freckles endured fireworks. We couldn’t find her, then I happened to see something moved off a cart. She had crawled in there and was shivering. From that point on I’d always hold her and comfort her during fireworks.

I hope she does fine with the fireworks... We've been hearing them since Sunday a week ago when it became legal to sell them here.

I am not exaggerating in saying we have had fireworks nearly every night set off by idiots that go buy them in Indiana and drag them over here to set them off late at night, or all night long...it upsets so many people. I had just dozed off about 3am this morning after a bathroom trip, and there was a very loud boom that was followed by some small ones. Then I couldn't get back to sleep for hours, so I had to take a nap this morning. I hope the kitties all do OK with the loud ones.

My Sam would run under the love seat at the first rumble of thunder. One day at the Rehab hospital across the street they had repairmen over there doing something and they threw some stuff in the dumpster and if you didn't know you would have thought it was thunder. Sam heard it and wouldn't come out from under the love seat for hours. LOL But he didn't have a problem with Fireworks.
