The Enemy From Within.

I recently watched some 9/11 attack footage. It was pretty horrifying. I was not a Bush II supporter, but I thought he handled things as well as he could, at least in the short-term. Now, people in our Country are being terrorized from within, by people who themselves are Americans, supposedly representing the United States Government. It is equally terrifying, though less disturbing from an "eye candy" perspective. Watch the video I attached. It is horrifying."Call the police"? It is not clear to me what they would be able to do.. How did we let this happen? I don't see how we can blame one intellectually challenged sociopath for what has happened here. There are a deeper systemic issues, and it is not easy to capture what they are in a few words. What are your thoughts?

So where have we failed? Did we dumb down our educational system too much? Did we allow capitalism to overrun morality? I am scratching my head.

@TheHorse See you have not failed because Democracy won the day. If your side had won, the other would be asking similar questions. It's the typical reaction to defeat for your preferred candidate in a democratic election

I wonder if as parents we failed to teach our children love of country, respect for our nation and flag. We turned them over to professors who don't share our values for the most part and then we're surprised when all this garbage happens. I believe when the Bible says that God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. We're on a dangerous path in many ways.

I have worked with many bad teachers and parents in my day. Many seem to focus on what kids do wrong, not what they do right. They wind up discouraging both critical thinking and creativity.

I was out of work when 9/11 took place. I remember going out in the early morning and put in some resumes and then coming back to the apartment in time to watch the noon news. I spend the rest of the day fixed to my seat watching the news and hearing the stories of people who had made it out and what they had experienced. I never have watched it again. It was heart wrenching.

@TheHorse .......I lived in a small apartment with my daughter. She hadn't had my grandson yet and this was just before the section 8 came up and we moved in here.

Let me say just one thing. Right now I would not even come as a tourist.

@TheHorse - I am not surprised, we read stories of tourists arrested and kept 48 hours in prison because "they thought" were illegal immigrants.

@LadyDuck I wonder if the 4th was so quiet because the Mexicans in the next neighborhood did not want to attract police or "ice"agents.

This is very disturbing. These are not situations that happen in a Democratic country. This is bullying and terrorizing. I hope more and more people are waking up to the type of government the current administration is working toward.

When 9/11 happened I was already in Latvia but nonetheless it horrified me, If I had been in NYC i worked about three blocks from there, What I remember was that supposedly the towers could not collapse like that but somehow there had also been explosives or some such place on each level and when they went off that was when the towers went down. They say that, that was the work of our government or someone in it and the act of terrorism was the planes that flew into the towers, In other words besides the damages the towers should have remained standing,

Yes, I remember talk of "conspiracy theories." They were debunked, but some people continued to believe some of them.
