Forty cans entry fee

We’re travelling and I haven’t had internet for a few days. We’ll probably be away another two days so I won’t be posting much. But I thought I’d share another funny sign with us.
We didn’t plan our stops but just thought we’d drive till we needed to camp for the night. This was a good idea as we could stop and start more easily than if we had to get to a certain point at a certain time. We came to a sign to a museum and thought we’d pull in. We’re so glad we did.
This was the sign we saw at the entry. In Australia, many drink cans and bottles can be handed in and you get 10c back. Many clubs and associations now collect cans to help generate funds. We promised the doorman that next time we’d come back with our 40 cans. I'll have more about this place later.

I wonder how many cans it would take to tell them apostrophes signify posession not pluralities...

The can thing is just meant as a joke. I'm always seeing incorrect apostrophes and it's really irksome but what can you do? I don't feel like drawing their attention to it. Most of these museums are run by retired people who put a lot of work in for virtually no reward so I try to ignore wrong signage.

I am guessing he let you in anyway. I always want to correct signs.

I doubt if anyone will get that bonus looking at the number of cans one has to offer.

That's a good project. They need to learn about apostrophes though.

Oh no
Not drink cans and bottles
Sore point
I was all set to become a can and bottle collector for a living and make my fotune
But the almost useless Scottish government messed up a bottle and can return scheme thus dashing my hopes of becoming a green legend and local hero
Can it be good cans as well Judy
Funny sign

Ah, we used to have deposits on soda bottles here. The good ol’ days. That’s a good idea, too!

It's a good fund-raiser, collecting bottles and cans.
