Living the Dream?

I'm almost 60. Married from 1993-2006, aside from about six years of living with a boyfriend, I have been single since. I don't dislike that, but sometimes I find myself dreaming like I did during my teen years.
I saw myself in an hystoric village, living in an historic home. My husband and I watching Dan Rather as we prepared dinner and the kids did their homework. But, that was never my life. It wouldn't be now either, as Rather retired and my child is 30, but I still see the village and house.
If HE is still out there somewhere (a new man, not an ex), I could consider giving marriage another go. Otherwise, a dream for my future would be for my son to settle and make me a grandmother.
Can you describe a dream you have for your future? Keep it clean :)

There is a long list to travel in our country and around the world. My husband and I have travelled a lot but not as much as we planned for various reasons. Now he has crossed 50 and I am nearing it, I wonder if all on the list can be covered. Age and physical limitations do catch up too.

They sure can. I'm in my late 50s now, and can't travel alone unless I take a plane, train, bus, or boat (manned by others).
I know a couple with a ten year age difference. They couldn't wait for her to retire so they could travel. She reached that age in 2016, but was still working in 2020, so perhaps they were thinking 70 instead of 66. Anyway, he got sick then COVID hit, and he's still sick. I've seen her look longingly at RVs.

@arunima25 So true. We have to do things while we can. My cousin always wanted a Corvette—finally bought one when he was 90.

@Chellezhere Hmm...life never becomes perfect. So, don't wait for anything. Just do it whenever you get an opportunity to. Life is unpredictable.

I would love to walk in a mountain road where the air is fresh and breezy.

No, I have no dreams about the future. I’m retired and living in the moment.

I have always said, if my wife and I ever part ways for whatever reason, I will never marry again. And that's not to say I don't love my wife or even that I don't enjoy married life. I just want my own space and my time to be mine and mine alone if that day ever comes.
One and done. lol
My wife and I met in 2005, and we married in 2007. 20 years together and 18 years married and counting.

@porwest We live for so long with or without someone and get set in our ways. We may still yearn for companionship, but not at the expense of our preferences and habits.

@Chellezhere I mean, it sounds awful to say, but I'm thinking...what's the point? Not that I have been unhappy. But...

Keep it clean.
Ah,
Well not difficult at all.
I just want to be healthy and have all my senses until I die in my own bed sleeping
One dream I hope does come true
Now you, and a new man,
You are only 60, so why not?

True. I am sure he is out there somewhere.
I hope we both remain healthy, and maintain all our senses until we die in our own beds, sleeping.

@Ineeddentures That's not up for me to decide. None of us want to think about that kind of loss, but you're not alone in fearing it. Keep your heart open, and don't retreat into loneliness. Let people in, even if it's not the same. I think it's fair to hope that love—whether from family, friends, pets, or someone new—finds you again in time.

Now question
I dont want to die alone
So what should I do if Yvonne was to depart this world before me

I would not marry again. I hope you find someone that it works out for you. I always seems to pick the wrong ones. After the fourth one I gave up. No willingness to try again. I'm happy alone and with my daughter and grandson.

I know that my husband would not want me to be alone. I still hope a kindly old gentleman will come along to keep me company. We may or may not get married. He would have to help me; so he can't be old and feeble.

@LindaOHio Yes, it's true. "Sassy" (that's what we called her) was 115-Lbs soaking wet. But, not all men are shallow.

So, do what my grandma did when she was 74 and marry (as she did) or hook up with someone 20 years younger.

@Chellezhere lol Good for your grandma!!! I'm not the skinny, young, hot woman that I was 50 years ago. I couldn't get someone 20 years younger! lololol

I never dreamed of what I have today as far as my marriage is concerned.
But fantasy-wise, I married my soulmate in 1972. So we're living together for 53 yesrs now. Why soulmate for both of us have synchronous birthdates - same month, date and year.

I want to buy a parcel of land and start a garden, and build a round 3 story tower.
Floor 1: Laundry Room
Floor 2: Sewing/Ironing Room
Floor 3: Office with 360 degree windows so I can watch my domain/garden from the top of the tower.
Then I want to let my boyfriend build the house that he wants on the rest of the land. We can live there together.
