I never thought I'd be an adult who keeps an eye on evangelical Christians. Why do I wonder if those folks could be after me? Cause their idea of 'love one another' is not my idea of 'love one another.'
My household is grieving and mourning America today. And we're feeding doggie dope to our loved pups. It's been pretty quiet here considering it is the Fourth of July. Rufus is a very sensitive pup. Plus he appears to be packing around some pretty heavy duty PTSD from the days before he came to us. One far away boom and Rufus is cringing behind the toilet. Not joking.
All house doors are closed. We've had a good meal: Beyond Burger patty on a piece of decent sourdough bread and potato salad. I made the mayo for the salad yesterday.
We've watched the movie musical 1776 per usual.
I haven't a clue how I am going to get the pups to go outside for their bathroom duties. I will put Rufus on the long leash but that doesn't mean he will willingly go off the house steps. On we go.....

@Ineeddentures Thanks for your kind wishes. The crap Rufus must have gone through before we adopted him!

@Ineeddentures I have music or a program going on the computer plus the A/C fan noise. The firework bangs sometimes shake the house. He hears it all. I took him out a bit ago for a potty walk- yard only. NO. Its going to be dark in a couple of hours and folks are already popping off. I am taking Rufus and pill bottle upstairs to bed. If he pees in the house, oh well.

They don't forget, ever.
I did say to someone with a dog to keep it company on a room with some music on.
That stops the impact of the sudden bangs the fireworks make

Hmm...The furbabies don't like those fireworks. I remember how out dogs Boogie and Topaz would just hide under the table. Even I don't like the loud sound and all the smoke coming out. On Diwali night, I prefer to stay indoors and put cotton buds in my ears.

@arunima25 Yes. I took Rufus outside for a bathroom break and he just shook and shook so I brought him back inside.

I know what you mean Lenore, not so much about evangelical Christians, but the America we live in now is not the one I grew up in. I will not celebrate the 4th properly until dopey, destructive, don is out of office.

@snowy22315 I am worried that he and his cronies have opened Pandora's box and America will never be the same. People are now getting away with horrors and it could easily become the norm.

I'm sorry the furbabies are having trouble today... Pretty and I have stayed closed up in the house all day and will stay that way until sometime tomorrow. We're trying to keep the smoke from fireworks out of the house so we don't have allergic reactions. I have epi-pens on my dresser, just in case. (The pharmacy made a mistake, though... My doctor ordered 4 of them for me but somehow, I ended up with a total of 8 new epi-pens... The epi-pens I already have won't expire for another month, so I'll look and see what friends need new ones and pass some of them around.

@DaddyEvil That's awful that you have such profound issues. Epi=pens expire? I hate how the smoke messes with the atmosphere- the pollution is awful, as you know. Thank you for your kind wishes. You take care.

@sallypup Yes, epi-pens can start getting cloudy through the plastic. They're not safe to use if that happens. They have an expiration date one year from purchase but, as long as the liquid in them isn't cloudy or discolored, they can be safely used for a couple of months after the expiration.
You're very welcome. You, too.
