A mural in a dying town

The image shows a mural on the end of a building in Bencubbin. This town states it’s on the boundary between cropping country and station lands. However it appears to be dying although there is still a police station there. The main street was deserted.
The mural shows a farmer checking his barley crop. On the left there is a nod to sheep farmers and wildflowers, and the rural women and children are also featured.
We’ve decided to head home today so I’ll get to see what you’ve all been up to soon.

@JudyEv You're very welcome. I wouldn't want to be on the roads in a camper during rough weather. I have no problem handling our car in storms but would still rather have good weather while I drive.

What could be the reason for this town dying and streets being deserted? Are people moving out for some reason?
That's a cool elaborate mural. Have a safe trip back hone.

That's a nice mural. It's a shame that the town is deserted. Drive safely.

How many people are living in the town right now?
