Do you like this building? It was built in 1912 and is the Kellerberrin Post Office. Kellerberrin is another of those towns that has seen more prosperous days but this building is still looking beautiful. Kellerberrin is 205 kilometres (127 mi) east of Perth in the wheatbelt region of Western Australia. The early settlers were Irish, arriving from 1890 to 1910. It is an important railway centre, the railway line forming a link, both to and from Perth and the hinterland, and to the eastern states.

The building is beautiful and looks younger than its years...

It's quite imposing. I think it is a private residence now.

@JudyEv Wow! That's a lot of space for a private residence.

@DaddyEvil True but it probably sold for a song. The town has a lot of empty shops so there probably wasn't too many offers for it.

Some of the country towns have some very nice buildings. Usually it's the pubs that are big but they are not always maintained so well.

That's a neat building. I should do a post on the smallest post office...

Both here and there, some lovely public buildings were built around that period - post offices, courts, banks, railway stations and the like. The modern ones are all horrible, we won't be admiring those in another hundred years.

Our country towns have some really magnificant hotels. Many are on a corner and are awesomely handsome.
