Happy Monday! I missed a great photo op this morning with a fawn and mama deer outside my window. However, I was writing a response at the time, and by the time I finished it they were out of range. I see deer in the yard fairly frequently. Last year it was kind of neat because one went to sleep on the grass. It was long gone by the time morning arrived though.

Yeah, I always like to see them. I have mixed feelings about seeing a bear or a coyote though. A bit too close for comfort.

@snowy22315 A bear is different, a too big animal for comfort.

That must have been so cool! I was reading an article about a guy who saw an albino deer in the early morning hours, and even got pictures of it. It was beautiful, although I know that means it probably has health problems.

@snowy22315 I read in a few states it is illegal to hunt them like a regular deer, but for the most part it is not due to it being an unnatural state and it not being healthy for deer.

@AmbiePam No clue on what the rules are here. Most places are posted though.

There used to be one somewhere around this area. I have seen a pic of it. One of my former roomies was a truck driver. He pulled up to a company office to do a delivery and in the yard or meadow of the place there was an albino deer herd! He thought it was the coolest thing ever and took alot of pics. He said some where completely white, and others were like varying degrees of white, with normal coloring mixed in. That would be something to see.

Yes, they are always so alert. Have you seen them paw the ground when they are warning others of danger or a mysterious sound?

Sorry you missed your photo op. We have a lot of deer here and it's always so cute seeing mama and baby together.

I know..it really is. There was a 3rd deer kind of hidden by the trees, I was wondering if it was daddy.

It's easy to miss photo opportunities with animals and birds. They move so quickly sometimes.
